The role of Iron for our health

Today we are living in the mechanical world. We are least bother about our health. Instead of taking care of our health we are wasting our money by buying medicines after gettting sick. We should know "prevention is better than cure". By spending few pennies we can save lot of pounds.
IRON: Iron makes haemoglobin and haemoglobin carries oxygen to each and every part of our body. Iron fortifies our body to fight infection and helps produce energy. A higher bioavailabity of dietary iron can be achieved by increasing the content of food components which enhance iron absorbtion, specifically ascorbic acid. The keyrole of ascorbic acid for the absorbtion of dietary nonheme iron is on account of (a) prevention of the formation of insolueble and unabsorbable iron compounds and (b) reduction of ferric to ferrus iron, which is a key requirement for the uptake of iron into the mucosal cells.
